Zaragoza World Expo 2008

Dear friends, I have finally made my way to the Zaragoza World Expo Site after falling sick and rested fully for 3 days.

Today, let us all take a tour to the Zaragoza World Expo Site. You will be viewing first hand the buildings and the innards of our very own Malaysian Pavilion that stands tall amongst others. Fyi, Malaysia Pavilion is sandwiched between Japan’s and Korea’s…ahh~ how fortunate *ahem* but I digress…

Moving on…

What you will see is mainly buildings under construction so this would be the “Before” images and the “After” would be hopefully a month later. So I shall initiate the Sights & Sounds section of this entry and look out for the picture of the day, I hope you enjoy what you see in here and be proud that Malaysia took part in this global event.

Now, lets roll!!

Sights and Sounds

Banner

No event is complete without banners and this is the one for this global Water Themed event. Check it out.

The Outside

Check out the artsy wall. Installed by 2 of my housemates. Me thinks its pretty grand when it is completely installed. By the way, we sort of just unloaded a trailer container. Hence, the mess but I’m happy as I finally get my goodies i.e. Maggi Mee!

The Inside 01

The following 5 sights are the innards of our Malaysian Pavilion. Use your imagination and picture the end result, wait for a month and then cross check with the pictures of it by then again ok? Hehe.

Artsy

Walk out the Pavilion, look up, and marvel at the arts and beauty of the expo site all the way from front to behind.

Sheer Length

Long staircases are so yesterday, be trendy and get on one of these instead. The longest escalators I’ve laid eyes on to date.

The Spaceship

Yes, full of “mirrors” at that and it’ll take off in a month’s time.

The Bubble Dome

Looking at this architecture just makes me bubbly happy, does it not you? So Cute!

The Gigantic Brown Chimney Hut

I’d love to stay in one of these huts some day…when I feel smokin’.

Lego

No surprises where the architect/designer obtained inspiration. Have you ever imagined how many pieces of Lego are needed to construct a life sized structure like in the picture? Or how many pieces to construct a life size you or me…hmm.

Fin Like

An architecture that resembles twin fins emerged from the ground. Lengthy ones too!

Unique Top

Another one of those funky architectures.

Alphabet Statue

Forgotten your ABCs? Relax, just go study this statue and you will be alright again. This is the statue located right in front of the Lego-like architecture.

Cable Cars

Irregardless that this year’s expo ground is not as huge as the year in Japan, they actually fitted the site with cable cars for a sky view of the expo site and those funky architectures. And the cable cars are my favorite lime green, How cool is that!

Picture of the Day : Azure Blue

I can absolutely stare into such blue skies and then everything in the world would be alright again because they are just so beautiful it is almost unreal. No post processes were necessary to obtain such shades of blue, el natural.

To be continued….

More sights and sounds as I walk around the site and on my way back to the apartment. So, see you in the next entry! It’s a promise then! Adios!
