The Great Walk

Hello my dear friends,

Here I am on a Friday night typing this out, how are all of you spending your weekends? Previously before Spain, Fridays were great because it meant dressing down and unofficial extended lunch hours for non-Muslims. It was also the day before weekends, which party people go out and well…party. Couples would go on dates just to kickback, have a meal or simply catch a silly romantic movie and other what-nots.

However, instead of showcasing our proud messy apartment, we have decided to spend a rather cold Friday morning to pay a visit to Ikea in Zaragoza, which is visible right across a small hill from the apartment. Our journey started off well stopping at the first bus stop where we usually do until the majority of us not really knowing which bus to hop on, unconsciously unanimously walked on after that, ALL THE WAY for a very healthy ONE AND A HALF HOURS. The walk instead of a bus ride saved each of us EUR0.50, how penny wise pound foolish right? NiaSingh…should have taken a cab LaH…basket!

*Ahem* Anyway, looking on the bright side…I managed to photograph some sights and sounds to share with you. So let’s cut the crap and move on to The Session already!

Sights and Sounds

Graffiti 01

They are at every corner and nook and as usual, colorful creative beautiful ones beckon to be photographed just like this one, simple and eye catching.

Graffiti 02

Such play of colors!

Graffiti 03

Even railings cannot escape

Graffiti 04

On this wall, the Purple Elf spoke very foully to me for there was a garbage dump at his front.

Graffiti 05

Yes, the Elf expressed many colorful words along the wall.

The Fellowship

With The Map entrusted in them, the party of 4+ 1 set off in search of The Ikea

Definitive Sign…Hallelujah!

The cheers would not have lasted as long if we knew we had to walk for another hour…dam shiiiiit.

HQ

Of what? The Zaragoza Police Force…believe it or not!

Road of Solitude

On this one hour Ikea bound journey, I searched my soul…seek answers from within my deepest thoughts…had a conversation with my inner self, asking…WHY ON EARTH did we NOT take a freaking cab instead!!?

Behind The Fences

I see Light, I see Ikea!

Puerto Venecia

Literally “Port Venice”. I equate this place to The Curve and its surrounding less the Royale Bintang and plus a Lowyat as witnessed in the photo below.

Lowyat on Steroids

This is PC City, a PC heaven – the size of 2 warehouses!

Destination

The very familiar hang out place...for me!

Marching On

Entrada and be transported to a dimension no different than Ikea in Damansara Intan.

Bienvenido

Err…maybe slightly different…language wise.

Proud Adventurers

Up the slope! Go forth! And turn back for a B&W photo!

Right At Home

And rightfully so too after the walk

Holy Item

Yes, they have it in Zaragoza! Buy a Moses for only $39.95 Today!

United Colors of Ikea

Forget Benetton, embrace the Ikea colors, man!

Hearty Meal 01

The Meal: 2 thick slices of ham and generous portions of juicy potatoes with concentrated brown sauce + Tarta Almendra + Café e infusions

The Damage: A very cheap 6 dollars

The Satisfaction: Guaranteed

Hearty Meal 02

Tarta Almendra

Hearty Meal 03

Some of them had this Arros (Read: Rice). The texture is not as soft as white rice.

Hearty Meal 04

Oh yes, no one should EVER skip this. These have pork in it and without a doubt, more flavorsome than those in our dear home country. Have I made you HUNGRY? Hehe.

POTD: Lovey!

I am unsure if this soft toy, which I conveniently named as Lovey, was left on this contrastingly white sofa bed as decor. Irregardless, the whole sight was of a warm fuzzy feeling on the inside, like receiving a hug from your loved one…such warmth!

And so, we left happily ever after lunch on Bus C4 and guess what we pursued beyond this point of time? Want to know?

Tune in again to see what the next entry may bring! Until the next session, please enjoy your weekends if you have not been doing so and hope you have enjoyed your weekends if you have done so! Go have More Fun!

Steph: And...the city council has either gave up/think better use of funds/encourage street art than cleaning them up cause seems like those graffiti were there for long!
