Camwhoring Gone Wrong

T'was lunch with the usual people in conjunction with Sharon's birthday somewhere in January. Being a warm day and not much going on, we retreated into Sharon's place for some shade and conditioned air. Without surprise, we camwhored as usual practice but then it went horribly wrong starting with the initial photo below.

The calm before the storm.

The manifesting madness.

Fueled by powerful venom from the forsaken land.

The beasts within are unleashed upon the innocent masquerader!

Total SAVAGERY and UNCIVILIZED MOTIONS.
With what could be only described as CRUEL BEASTIAL INTENTIONS.
OMG.
The worse has YET to arrive.

Only Dear Lord knows the fate of the helpless masquerader. Bound by the madness and harshness brewed within the devilish beings. I shudder at the thought.

Taiwan Day 4 : Part 2 (Finale)

The morning in Taipei was especially cold and in a way, reminded me of how little time I have left in Taiwan. Somehow, sights like below always makes me stop and think of life a bit.

I spent my last day in Taiwan visiting Taroko National Park. Early morning, a taxi ride, frantic search for the entire party, a train ride and in a van later, we arrived here.

We went snooping about the place before arriving at the Taroko Gorge.

There was a bridge that is home to these little marble lions. This is the funniest/cutest.

Soon after, we were brought upon the mighty Gorge of Taroko where the rivers flow with lime stones in it. So erosive the lime stones that there are no fishes found in the rivers. However, it has abundant of marble and jades are found here too. We had to wear safety helmets during the walk through the Tunnel of Nine Turns as rocks still fall from the top of the mountain.

Lime stone river.

I feel so small each time I gaze upon the tall and mighty nature.

We camwhore no matter where we go!

Everyone does!

This is another amazing formation of the landscape due to erosion.

And so, that wraps up my journey in Taiwan. What an amazing place, with friendly people and tasty food to boot...it is one of those places I'd like to revisit.

Finding My Way to Chilling

Here's a short break from the Taiwan trip entries...nature related nonetheless.

This place holds much fond memories for me since 2005. I have visited this place many times during its much quieter and more peaceful days and much has changed in the world since the first visit. After 5 years, I decided I could not always rely on other people to bring me here and thus the decision to find my way there with some friends.

The restless river still flows perpetually, carrying bits and pieces of remnants from higher grounds to finally lay arest beneath the lower river beds.

I recall my very first time setting foot into the waist high waters. I believe I loved jungle trekking ever since then.

The undergrowth never fails to exhibit a different look each and everytime I walk pass it yet it feels so familiar, like home and that I belong.

The skies were bright and sunny that day and somehow this long standing tree caught my eye.

And you know it is all worth it when you find this waiting for you at the end.

Just Simply Breathe Taking

I hope more people could view nature's elegance with their own eyes, and how energizing it is for those who find the peace and serenity whilst submerged underneath the icy cold running waters.

Taiwan Day 4 : Part 1

The very next day, it was lunch as soon as we checked out of the hotel. All was good and it got my eyes popped when this was served.

OMG, so elaborate.

Too pretty to be eaten.

The very nice taiwanese hosts we had lunch with.

We said our goodbyes and farewells before making way to Taipei. The weather was rainy and chilly when we arrived Taipei. Can't say I enjoyed the experience especially in the midst of the huge metropolitan. I think I enjoyed Tainan and Taichung better.

Anyhow, a cab ride and a bit of walking in the drizzle later...we reached the centre of all things branded and luxurious meant for the high rollers - Taipei 101. Coincidentally, there was a car exhibition held there. More photos from that later. Unfortunately, no photos of the Taipei 101 due to the drizzle and in hindsight, it really isn't all that pretty even when compared to KLCC.

Beautiful cars on display.

Here's a black & white rendition of the city view from the 88th floor. Can you actually tell it is Taipei? I cannot.

Some cool effects as a result of the foggy windows.

Taipei 101 mascot - a botak bee.

Home Sweet Home.

Teresa Teng memorabilia.

Cute lil thingamajigs.

Nice.

Beautiful.

Damn HOT!

The interior of the building reminds me largely of KLCC / The Gardens @MV.

And I let out a gasp or two at the sight of this Xmas tree studded with sparkling Swarovskies
*dayumm*

Commercial material overload! Back to nature in the next entry...
