Our Take On The City

It was a public holiday. I was awake at 6 am and 15 minutes later, I was driving nonchalantly to meet up with 3 friends for a casual photography session at an all too familiar urban landscape. It was unusual for any one of us but we decided that it would be more practical to travel using the Light Rail Transit and so off we hopped on on our journey.

In hindsight, it was very fortunate for us to have glorious morning light as compared to grey skies had we decided to hold it one morning later. But guess what, we did not and I am glad I caught some images that mother nature provided amazing lighting for. I would like to share them here.

This was taken wondering if the occupants of those skyscrapers ever basked in the gentle morning sunlight while admiring this simple beauty.

OR have they always been rushing in and out of their offices without so much as a glance at their own lives?

This is Abby, carefully recording the image of the sun rays peeking out from behind the two towering blocks of concrete.

Ever wondered what the calmness of water can present to you? I no longer wonder.

This, I believe is a photographed-to-death attraction and I also believe that what sets 2 images of the same scene apart is the lighting. It is far from perfect but this is my representation of that belief.

A little play with angles of composition and taking advantage of the calmness.

Here is Seng Keong making an image of the rear of a thirsty cat. The actual image later on. And no, the cat did not end up in the pool though I wondered what if *evil* :-)

An intrigued early bird.

The man with breakfast. Always makes me hungry.

Perhaps another shot-to-death attraction. Could you guess where this is? Look at next photo for clue ;-)

Kibarkanlah Jalur Gemilang!

Seng Keong doing his thing again, capturing images of unsuspecting victims.

Could you imagine rushing to shut all these windows when it starts to pour?

All walks of life set foot upon these stairs and I chance upon this silhouette image of this lady.

A quaint rickshaw at Oldtown Kopitiam - how befitting.

Yes Yasmin, harmony and forgivingness are both rare commodities these days.

The following are images taken by Seng Keong.

His take on the gridded buildings.

Remember the cat? This is that shot he took at close proximity.

We also meddled with some wireless flash. Here is me posing silly.

What's an early morning without a proper group photo on site? Wireless flash to keep our faces lit in the shade.

I guess he discovered the elegance of the calmness as well.

The unsuspecting "victim".

Oh dang, he shot me!

A parting shot at a farewell lunch before Seng Keong and Yee Leng sets foot in Singapore in search of their rainbows. Have a good one my friends!
